Why Your Q2 Business Goals Should Include Your Personal Life

Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been in the trenches with clients and advisory board members reviewing Q1 progress—and I’ve got to say, I’m encouraged by what I’m seeing.

Whether we were using EOS-style quarterly ROCKs, chasing down KPIs, or checking off BHAGs, one theme kept rising to the surface: business goals are being met and often exceeded.

It’s one thing to have your cash flow dialed in (like we talked about last week), but it’s another to know what you’re building it all for.

Almost every client I talked with admitted they hadn’t made as much progress on their personal goals as they’d hoped.

That got me thinking about a question someone asked me recently:
“Chris, are you more of a business coach or a life coach?”

My response?

“I’m probably one of the most balanced coaches you’ll meet.”

Because more and more, I’m finding that my clients aren’t just looking for help with sales strategies, team alignment, or operational efficiency.
They’re asking deeper questions:

  • “Can you help me define our family vision five years from now?”

  • “Will you hold me accountable to taking a vacation with just my spouse this year?”

  • “How do I find better balance between growing this business and being present at home?”

Here’s the truth I’m seeing:
You can hit every revenue target and still miss the mark if your personal life is running on empty.

And honestly?
That’s not the kind of success I want for my clients.
That’s not the kind of success I want for you.

So as you review your first quarter and set your sights on Q2, I encourage you to zoom out. Don’t just ask:

“What do I want my business to look like three months from now?”

Also ask:

“What do I want my life to look like three months from now?”

Because the truth is:
Your business should serve your life—not the other way around.

And if you need someone to help you stay aligned with both?
That’s where I come in.

Let’s build something meaningful—in business and in life.
